Do You Want to Perform at the Southwark Playhouse?

Do you have an exciting act that needs a free London showcase ? Is it BURLESQUE! - OR interactive theatre, comedy, puppetry,music, story-telling, escapology, living statue, poetry, visual art, dance, close up magic, treasure hunts, performance art, children’s theatre, mime, wacky stunts, clowning or anything else weird and wonderful or dark and dangerous?

Then we want you for our SECRETS Programme! A great way to gain a London showcase to invite people to, promote yourself to a new London audience or try out a new routine/act/idea! Also perfect for new Burlesque performers to gain experience with an audience. We will be trying to get as many promoters and press in as possible for these nights. See below for full details….

Could you be our best kept secret?
Southwark Playhouse is looking for performers to be a part of its new and improved Secrets programme in October and November 2009.

Secrets will run on a Saturday and Thursday night in the bar area as part of a post-show cabaret or full length show depending on acts.

Previous performances have included everything from magicians, stand-up comedy, storytelling, treasure hunts en masse and, of course, a healthy dose of live music, dance and theatre. But we are always open to new ideas and particularly keen to hear from acts that are interactive.
We are also always happy to talk to you about your act and how it might be tailored to suit us.
We cannot offer payment but know this to be a great opportunity for performers to reach new audiences, get reviewed and build relationship with one of London’s most exciting theatres. Situated in old railways tunnels under London Bridge, the space has its own vibrant personality making it an exceptionally quirky, exciting venue to perform in.

This is an amazing opportunity - sometimes I wish that I performed.
