my basics list:

*high waisted 1940s jeans
*high waisted shorts, denim, black and white
*ribbed tanks, some with logos
*diner shirts, which can tie at the front
*scarves
*plain thin cardigans
*leopard print coat
*LBD
*patterned/ colourful cinch belts
*black heels
*black flats

Great list Katy.

I would also add to that high waisted pencil skirts
in black, red and denim
a couple of twin sets
a couple of ditsy print floral dresses (tea dresses and circle skirt dresses)
at least one petticoat to poof out full dresses and skirts

and accessories always polish a look.
So hats, gloves, belts, brooches etc
They can take an out fit from so-so to va va voom
