Your 'special area' and home waxing

I know that people have touched upon ideas relating to this issue in other threads so sorry if i am repeating something already discussed...

I'm wondering does anyone wax their own bikini area at home and if so can anyone recommend an easy to use brand.

I have been waxed professionally in the past and never found it particularly painful, however the pain in my wallet is a little too much! I can stand shaving my area as the regrowth just looks nasty and the same for creams.

One of my friends said she used pre prepared strips to do her bikini area but the only pre prepared strips i ever used (on my legs) just made me sticky and gross as if i had put golden syrup on myself.

Any thoughts appreciated ladies (or gents for that matter)

i find any pre prepared wax products rubbish and dont lift any hairs but leave the syrup there... bah.

I use the hot wax method for this delicate area, although the wax is still prepared at skin temperature this is the sort that isn't removed with a strip.  It comes in solid form and looks a little like toffee you apply it and leave it to partially set and whip it off without the assistance of a strip.  Some of the benefits are that there is no sticky residue and it doesn't attach to the skin, just the hair.

Sorry I'm not being very clear, it's late and I'm pooped!

One of my friends used to be a beauty therapist and she recommended going to Sally Beauty supplies and get the professional stuff rather than stuff you can get in superdrug or boots.

The last time I went to get done my Mum booked me into her salon & the girl told her she did brazilians, but when I got there she said she hadn't finished her training so she just did the edges. I wanted to finish the job myself but never got round to it...  Rolling Eyes

Hi Emerald!
If you find yourself in Leicester again any time soon (and with a sack full of spare time and money!!!!) - you should pay this lady a visit - she is wonderful - take it from me her waxing is fantastic! Home waxing never achieves anywhere near the same results - check out her magazine feature!

You guys have Sally Beauty Supply stores over there? Weird! Something besides McDonald's that made it across the pond! They're all over the place here in Florida.

I think thats what its called anyway, usually red shop fronts!

I use Veet but my hubby does it for me. A true perfectionist. A glass of wine (for me) beforehand eases the pain.
