Your beauty routineShare with me if you will your beauty routine?
Mine is pretty basic:
Brush teeth, shower, body lotion, cleanse, tone then moisturise face. I then dry my hair - very quickly and no styling is involved at the moment. I then spend all of 10mins doing my make up.
I do exfoliate face and body twice a week and get my eyebrows dealt with every three weeks.
But I'd really like to step up my beauty routine. So I was wondering if any of you could give me an idea of what your daily and special occasion beauty routine involves. I want to start feeling special!

Complete overhaul or every morning job?
Complete overhaul (e.g pre-shoot pamper).
* Shower
* Wash hair & condition - I use Brilliant Brunette stuff
* De-fuzz - used to wax but can't afford to atm
* Scrub down with lovely smelling stuff (flavour of the month is almond & honey)
* dry off
* moisturise body with matching smelling lotion or body butter
* deal with manky feet
* Paint toenails & fingernails
* Straighten or curl hair as desired
* Facial skin care with Clinique 3 step system (occasional facepack)
* Brush teeth with Blanx toothpaste (good stuff for whitening!)
* Basic makeup = 10-15 mins (foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyebrows, eyeliner & mascara then red lippy perhaps)
Daily is a shortened version of the above...

Shower
Brush teeth
Shave (I'm lucky. Once a week. Thank you native American blood!)
Comb tangles out of hair and tie it back
Cover my body with whatever item of clothing is closest
That's the daily routine. When I'm preparing for an event, not much changes except for cologne and nicer clothes.

Mine is exactly the same as this! Except for a splash of Chanel.

Thanks very much everyone.
So it turns out I'm not missing out some huge vital step?! Wahey.
Going into town today to treat myself to lovely pamper products.

Do you wear SPF? If not, start today. x

I use a gentle face exfoliant every day, really helps give a smooth make up application. With age comes anti-wrinkle cream at night time too...Make sure to wash make up brushes, especially if you use one for foundation.
And like Anna says, wear SPF every day! Clinique do a base called City Block, which is good, but most make up primers have a SPF to them.
Lots of handlotion just before bed or before leaving the house too

ok, mine is big and long......just how I like things!
Morning:
Shower (in which I : Exfoliate, shave underarms, wash and condition hair)
All over body moisturize with expensive lotions
Tone and moisturize with Origins A Perfect world products
Put in leave in conditioner and mousse before blowdrying hair
Dance about in underwear for about ten minutes deciding what to wear
Spritz on perfume and roll on deodorant
Put base makeup on (primer, concealer, foundation, blush)
Get dressed
Brush teeth
Finish makeup (eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, lipliner, lipstick, lipgloss, highlighter, brow pencil)
Evening:
Bathe in deep bubbly stuff (only if needed)
More body lotions
Cleanse, Tone and moisturize with more Origins products
Brush hair and spray in some Fast Fixx
Apply hand cream
Apply Solar Oil to fingernails, cuticles and any hard patches
Lipbalm
Every two weeks:
Get nails done
Have eyebrows waxed
Top up the blue hair colouring
Once a month:
Legs and Bikini wax
Body wrap (when I can afford it)
Yes, I know its a lot. But I have no job, so I fill my time with beauty routines.

I do indeed use SPF - I have used a min of factor 40 for as long as I can remember. I burn if I so much as think about the Sun. Plus I don't want to look like a handbag in a decade.
Thanks for all of your lists and wow Lily Belle what a terrific list I shall be stepping it up to match yours now that I am working from home more often than not.

Why thank you! Most people just laugh at my routine, but it does the job.

it's not just SPF when in the sun, it's making sure your moisturiser has a SPF so you are wearing EVERY day - A lesson I learned a while ago....

Thanks, I already do because I had a terrible skin thing when I was a teenager and don't dare to leave the bathroom without SPF.

Don't worry mine is about the same.
I'm even quick showering, I used to live in a student house where you needed to put 50 Pfennig in a box to get hot water for the shower. You better be quick before it runs out and gets cold.

My experience with quick showers is much the same. In basic training for the Marines, you had to shower fast before the hot water ran out. When you have 60 people in your platoon showering at the same time, hot water goes fast. I was usually in and out in less than two minutes and that was a very thorough shower. I take long ones now when I can, but if I gotta go, I can still hit the two minute mark and be completely clean. That is, if I don't wash my hair which I didn't have in basic haha.

I pluck my eyebrows though.
Yesterday I had a shower, exfoliated, moisturised and face packed myself up in honour of this thread.

*looks around* shhhhh... I thin mine a bit, too. I don't pluck, though. I'm not that careful about it. I just run a razor over the top and bottom of the brow.
It's not like I have a unibrow or anything, but if I don't thin my eyebrows, it looks strange compared to how manicured I keep the rest of the hair on my face. The fact that I have to dye my eyebrows and facial hair doesn't help. I'd look funny with a blonde beard and black hair.

I now have a new #1 reason to keep dying my beard.

I did my eyebrows and had a face pack too, made me feel a bit better about being a sloth. One day I may get round to getting the lawnmower on to these legs of mine.

I find the best exfoliating face wash is Ocean Salt (possibly the name is slightly different) By Lush.
It has chunks of sea salt with grapefruit and vodka. It gets rid of spots and leaves you with a face as smooth as a babys bum!

I don't think I can answer this without sending you all to sleep, but needless to say my life is one long merry-go-round of twice daily cleansing, toning and moisturising - hair dying, waxing, manicures, pedicures, roller setting, scrubbing, smoothing on and on and on.
Oh and the daily inspection and massage of wrinkles, he he.

Sounds like some kind of bliss...apart from the wrinkle thing. I sent my husband out to by some face cream the other day with full instructions of what to buy and he came home with stuff for 60+ skin I'm 25, I nearly committed murder.

This is true. I am forever getting Ruby up at 4am so she can start her preening in time for us to be out of the house by 11am.

They already know we sleep together and that you tickle my toes!
I didn't tell you did I?, that the other night i was at Adam's, I dreamt that I hugged you in my sleep thinking you were Adam and I then woke up and shouted really loudly to Adam, "im sorry I thought you were Adam" thinking I was shouting and apologising to you"!!

Ha ha that made my morning! At work at the mo so that really cheered me up!

Tee hee, poor Adam. I don't think I've ever been so flattered in my life "I'm so sorry darling, I was just dreaming about Ruby!!!" that's made my day

Lets hope the reverse doesn't happen and I end up touching you thinking you are Adam

That has happened once, a friend rolled over and wrapper herself around and uttered her boyfriends name in my ear! I piled all the bedding on her till she got really hot and rolled over, she'd have died if I'd of woken her up!

Haha my friend did something like that once and actually put her leg over me in the middle of the night, I woke her up and laughed at her.

A friend woke up with her hand wrapped around a male friends balls - luckily he stayed sound asleep so is still blissfully unaware that it happened!
Am horribly slack when it comes to any kind of beauty routine - but my mum has just bought me a moustirser from Aldi - apparently it out performed a lot of the top brands in trials - and it's only about £2!
