why i should never cut my own hair

Ladies, i know you have the hair skills.
I have done a quite daft thing, i have cut myself a fringe in on impulse but i have cut it a wee bit too wide (about a cm too wide on each side) can anyone advise how i can disguise it (aside from with a wig!) until it grows to a more resepctable length? at the moment i don't look run and hide grotesque but it does look a bit weird

This has happened to me before - except it was a hairdresser who did it to me!

Welcome to the fringe club though lol. I LOVE mine *strokes lovely straight fringe*.

How do you normally wear your hair? It its up, put it up as normal, then take a bobby pin, scoop up the part you dont want seen and hide it under the rest of your hair. Do that as near to the root as possible.

Loose is a bit harder, my sister managed to do this one for me. She picks out the bits that shouldn't be seen and temporarily kirby grips them into a section of "underneath" hair. Then she gets a little comb and lightly backcombs the fringe to the rest of the hair. Then use some super strong hairspray or gel and gel it into place.

Its quite hard to convey with words lol. I hope that helps a bit though.

I'm always having hair disasters - I just don't know when to leave well alone!  My solution involves more cutting I'm afraid - I've always been of the 'this is goig to get worst before it gets better' camp.

If you cut the lengths around the fringe gradually shorter up to wear it becomes your fringe it looks softer - not right from the bottom I must stress, or you'll have a very interesting long, wide bowl cut  Laughing

But I've found that layering where the fringe starts, it grows back gradually as well, so you don't end up with a blunt cm on each side as you cut the bit of your fringe you want to keep later ad leave the 'spare' bits.

Does any of that make sense?

oh honey....have i been there...usually i cut mine too short as i try to get it straight, (as happened before christmas, thankfully its all grown out now) i have now been banned from doing it myself Laughing  What i have been doing these last few months is to change my hair to a side parting and having whats left of the fringe swept to one side, and i also used loads of alice bands, scarfs to draw the hair away. I also sometimes curled the rest of hair to take the emphasis away from the dodgy fringe.....

hope this helps a bit!

curling the rest of my hair has helped draw attention away to the fringe foolishness. Thanks ladies!
