Ah how lovely! (takes a seat by the fire place). I think this will do rather well! Why thank you Miss Rose! You are a star! In honesty ladies i am finding that your wonderful company is becoming a terrable distraction to me getting my work done! I seem to spend more time on these forums than doing my day job which really wont do, so with the introduction of this new smoking lounge as a special place for the boys - then I think I will try and limit my posting to here.

Apart from anything else this forum really should be a place for you girls to chat and while you have all so kindly embrasced me into your warm bossoms i dont want to get in the way of your girly chats!

We all knew that comment was comming..the only question was from who....

I do find the whole woman dressed as a man look very intresting though, and one which seems to have been somewhat - and still is - somewhat of a theme.

So what is it about boys who dress as girls, and girls that dress as boys that appeals so much?

ok let me correct that a little. There is a number of women who find effeminate men attractive.

The again we do seem to live in a world which currently see men making an effort other apperance as something terrable. It wasnt long ago that men wore make up and fabulous wigs as a matter of course.

I love men who are feminine...they are the best to shop with..i love them in womens things too...I also like suits etc on women i like suits i think they look nice with a girly touch to them. Very Happy

i know personally i pulled far more easily when i wore make up than at any other time in my life. Then again i was 4 stone lighter and had glorious check bones.

Thanks for that, I have been meaning to come back here for ages but I have felt buried under photography work. Plus doing a wider variety of subject matters of late made me realise just how much I like the burlesque scene / people / and associated photography!

Haha. Yeah. Burlesque is like sex. You don't realize how great it really is until you haven't had it for a while. That's what keeps us all here. Knowing we could never just walk away from it and still be happy.

Hi All

Just wanted to say Hi to all. I've been reading these forums for a couple of weeks now and thought it about time to say 'Hello'.

I used to get involved in the MoB forums a bit (cough, cough) but there are too many kids on there now (you know the type - really into burleseque but haven't actually been to any shows). There seems to be a bit more informed debate and fun on this forum - and I always wondered where HG had gone to!

For information I (we) try to get to as many Burlesque events around the midlands as we can (Candybox, Pitty Patt, Peekaboo etc.). Seriously looking forward to Charlotte's 'Ooh La La! Party for Parkinsons' in April.

Welcome to the BWI! We're glad to have you.

MoB gets a lot of newbies because they show up on the first page of Google. Anyone who types in the word "burlesque" is going to find them first. That's how it worked for me even though I had my own burlesque troupe by then. That's great for MoB, but it attracts all sorts of people who may have never even heard the word burlesque before they logged on to the internet that day.

We get new people here now and then but they usually get all the info they need rather quickly. In fact, I think we've even had a few newbies show up that are now on the verge of performing. I think one or two may have already done a few shows. It's a very nurturing environment for anyone interested in performing or just getting together to see a show or just being silly on the internet. haha.

I think you'll find it impossible to have a bad time here on BWI so dive in and have fun.
