Vintage style winter wear

As summer is drawing to a close i am trying to get a few winter odds and ends into my closet for when the weather turns.
In the past i used to just buy stuff and say blow it if it didn't go well with what i already had (foolish!) but this year i wanted to get a few warmer bits that would go with what i already have. I have lots of pencil/wiggle skirts and quite a few gypsy/off the shoulder tops which are fine for summer but what would go with these for a cosy winter top? Somehow borrowing my boyfriend's hoodies just wouldn't look right!

Very Happy

Nice tight polo neck jumpers...twin sets maybe...blouses/shirts with little cardis little jackets...I love pencil skirts with those figure hugging polo necks..xx

Sweater girl! cashmere sweaters with sequins and beads look really cute with wiggle skirts, buttoned up cardigans in pastel shades. I really like little turtle neck short sleeved jumpers, they sometimes have them in the granny section of BHS and M&S, they look so cute on! You need to get out your bullet bras though! Very Happy

I've been buying lots of faux furs for my winter wardrobe, TK Maxx had a really expensive cream designer furry bolero reduced to £12, they might have some left if you pop in, it was at the front of the Trinity Square store near the reduced sunglasses!

Oooh, i shall check that out. I like the buttoned up cardy/sweater girl look but i guess it's too early in the year for them in a lot of shops. Don't suit polo neck sweaters though... they make my bosom look like it's at my waist!

Of you're after trousers Tesco have some high waisted wide leg trousers in at the moment for £15, I've bought a few pairs for work.

I'm not usually one for Supermarket clothes lines but they're really comfy!

Piccie of the black ones:

They come in different lengths too so you don;t have to look like that model, is it just me or does she look decidedly odd with her ankles poking out? Hmmmm Wink
Thrilby

I agree, she does look very odd!

Back to the old faithful, but Peacocks have some nice high waisted trousers in as well.

I have just come back from Peacocks triumphant with a grey knee length shift dress, almost identical to one I saw for £45 the other day, mine cost £18, bargain  Very Happy

(I also bought two pairs of shoes and a top, I'm not going out next month now)

I like the satin/wool look, contrasting textures look very pretty and keep you toasty warm. Try Debenhams for satin blouses, and i've found Gap and M&S to be very helpful in the cardi department. Also, now is the time to invest in pretty silk slips, You can just pop the on under a dress that you thought would have to be resigned until next summer, and suddenly your torso and upper legs stay cosy!
