Me to honey on your bum is the worst than god for camouflage make up. You just got to drink plenty of water, make sure you get all your make up off. It could be a little stress when you are worrying about performing so maybe you need to do some yoga.
No one will notice honey

syntheticdarkness

oooh!! does that mean my sin will be stunning when i am older??? Very Happy
EllaEmerald

Mines been shit since I was 13 and shows no signs of stopping. The only time it cleared up was when I was taking the contraceptive pill Dianette which they took me off as it can give you liver damage long term, at that point I was considering sacrificing the liver. Vain, moi?
Ruby Rose

If Dianette cleared up your skin then it's a hormonal situation. Go to you Drs Surgery and tell them you want to be tested for PCOS Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, you will have a blood test and possibly a scan, there's quite a lot you can do to help the situation if that's what it is.

Thanks Ruby, that's great advice.
I'm in the same situation as EllaEmerald, although I have found a great 'spot stick' in Boots. It's the whitchhazel and tea-tree range. It is double ended and has a clear treament you can put on any time during the day, which really reduces the redness and then a night treatment to help combat generally.

Although I did read somewhere that if you need to reduce the reness of a spot dab on eye drop solution which is designed for tired eyes.
Cecilia Rouge

Aw thankyou for all this guys, spots are still there....evil buggers.
Fleur du Mal

Toothpaste! If you can see you're getting a spot, put some toothpaste on the redness overnight and in the morning it'll be teeny. I used to do it all the time and it works, but you have to be able to see them developing - once they're there and all angry it's useless
Midnight Blue

I've got a pair of those damned polycystic ovaries, they made me quite poorly earlier this yea when I donated eggs. The average collection is around 12. My doolally ovaries on the lowest dose of stims produced 36!

I've been spotty forever, including my detested spotty botty Embarassed Nothing seems to make a difference to them (spots or ovaries) Confused I've pretty much accepted I need to just not give a crap and get on with life
Miss Baby Bones

oh dear i do feel for you ladies Sad

women do go through alot of shit dont they?

on a comedic note, i think i get spots around my lower face because i hug the cats and rub my face on them so much

lol yes im mental

if i could id grow a beard to hide my spots. lol

Fucking hormones!

I am sitting on my hands to stop myself from recommending products from the shop where I work, I'm so used to doing it every day - instead, I'll just recommend anything with lavender in to balance the skin oils (especially good on normal/combination skin), the scrub that I've been using has worked an absolute treat to the extent that one of my best friends has said it's like I have an entirely new skin.  Also, citrus oils (most especially lemon) are excellent for oily skin/hair in general.

Don't whatever you do put toothpaste on spots to make them go down, dries the skin out something awful.

P.S., zinc & vit E are absolutely essential for good skin!
Ruby Rose

Oooooooh now you have to tell us which shop you work for  Very Happy pretty please.

Welcome to the forum too!

I got bit on one of my boobs and its left a HORRIBLE purple spot! I also have a birthmark on my stomach and get spots on my chin! But you know what? Since becoming more involved with Burlesque, I don't care as much  Smile

EDIT: An insect bite!!  Embarassed I just re-read that and realised it sounded like.... well I don't know! But just so we're clear on that......
EllaEmerald

Tell us where you work, everyone else shamelessy plugs!
Dorothy

I`ve been plagued with the pesky little things since teenage years-I definetly have the moaning hormones! Laughing
i used to be on Dianette but had to come off too as i was on it for so long! but now they give you a newer one Yasmin which is much better for you...Freederm ,which you can get from Boots is good for little ones on your face but i also like lavendar and tea tree oil-its very healing....for those ones on your back try MD Formulations VitA Plus body clearing spray which is expensive but clears the little buggers up practically overnight...

on the plus side i read once (though please correct me if i`m wrong )that the oily skin that comes with spots means you will have less wrinkles when you older!
yipeee!

Aww thank you!

I work for Lush  Very Happy  The scrub I use is called Angels On Bare Skin, tis amazing.  Cupcake face mask is made with chocolate (well, cocoa butter and cocoa powder) and is very good for combination/oily skin with a tendency towards spots - aimed at teenagers, but I'm no teenager, and it's fabulous.

I don't think oily skin means less wrinkles - wrinkles really depend on genetics (if your mother and father age well), your exposure to the sun and how harshly you treat your skin - ie rub it too hard and so on.  Having said that, if your parents age well it could be because they have oily skin too, so who knows!
Minnie the Minxtress

Ohhhh LUSH!  I do love the Cerridwen's Cauldron bath thingy... it's divine!  Smile
Lily Lain

I use Angels on bare skin and cupcake too, I whole heartedly agree it's excellent... however, i'm yet to find a decent moisturiser that doesn't cost upwards of £15!

Recommend any good ones?

I absolutely adore all things Liz Earle - when I was in the Isle of Wight last year, I went and tracked down her shop in Ryde.  It's all aromatherapy based and not tested on animals.  The men's range is gorgeous, when John does the whoe face wash/scrub thingy, I could eat him.

Lulu's on the right track girls, but you don't need the multi-vitamins.
Hand on heart, who, eats, everyday, a grapefruit, an apple, a pear an orange, a banana, plus a mix of nuts, which you can buy in a packet?
Who doesn't eat, confections like Mars bars, Kit-Kat, crisps, biscuits, processed foods, laden with sugar & salt?
I know I sound like a lecture from your Mum, but honestly, it's not rocket science. Healthy eating, equals healthy skin.
You don't even have to quit the grog, but nicotine does ravage your skin.

Enzymon @ Lush

- amazing stuff , reduces size of pores too...

Is your skin oily or combination?  If Enzymion, Cosmetic Lad or Imperialis aren't any good (+ try samples of Afterlife and Gorgeous, seeing as they're both good for all skins and it's worth giving the skin a treat), then maybe have a look at Neal's Yard's products or the vitamin E one from TBS.  I also quite like the Hydro Quench Day Sorbet from No7, which is really, really good for a bright complexion.  Liz Earle's not a bad suggestion either.
emilytuck

I have found the best thing is not a good mouisturiser its oil -

Hang on dont look at me like that.

Jojoba oil from Neals yard or similar will be the closest thing to the natural sebum or proctective wax of the skin so its like buying something that the skin recognises instinctively. When I use it everyone has commented.
I use it only at night (oterwise my make up runs)  I find its enough I dont need it again in the morning.

If you feel that you cant live without protection both day and night use moisturiser in the day and the oil at night.

If you have more mature skin this may dry your skin so use Rosehip oil its the main ingredient of all anti aging creams.

As for all the "Pedipeptides" etc in expensive creams is only there in name there is enough in the cream to get over legal issues if sued but not enouh to make bugger all difference to your skin.

Hope that helps as for exfoliator I agree either Angels on bear faces although I use orange and honey facial scrub from Neals Yard thats great too.
Miss Baby Bones

ah neals yard

i look at the shop alot thinking 'i must go in there'

ive just gotten into infinity foods supermarket, so one upheaval at a time! lol

I know the feeling doing everything all at once is too much xxx
Bea deVile

I've just seen the weirdest thing in the new Boots mag - something called Zeno (I think).
It's 120 pounds (ridiculously I can't find the pound sign on this keyboard - someone's hidden it!!).
If you press the end against a spot it sends a heat pulse thingy to kill the spot without damaging the skin.

Ruby Rose

I use a combinations of oils as a moisturiser that I add to pure shea butter

Rosehip
Macadamia
Jojoba
Carrot
Unrefined Avocado
Vit E
Lavender

I swear by it.

what, all at once??
