Someone's smiling down on me todaySo two security guards turned up at my office door a little while ago and asked "Have you lost your purse?"
A quick scrabble through my handbag revealed I had. Apparently it had fallen out of my bag on the bus that goes between the Park and Ride and the Hospital where I work. It had a substantial amount of cash and all of my cards in there. I'm very relieved that it was handed in and very surprised that nothing had been taken!
Nice things like that don't happen often enough

Ooh that was good you got it back containing everything! And extra good that someone took it to you!

I got given a bus ticket by a lovely old man the other day as I was rifling desperately through my purse for change, he made my night. Such simple, sweet gestures.
When I found a purse at the cinema my friend could not believe I handed it in and didn't even look inside!
If it was a £20 note on the floor I would have taken it, but not someones purse.

A £20 on the floor is fair game unless you saw the person drop it. I mean... what are you going to do? Ask everyone around if they lost a £20? They will ALL say yes. Okay, maybe not all, but some joker would claim it and there's no way to know if it's theirs.
I found a $50 that way and I looked around first to make sure no one had their wallet out or were searching around. There was no one within 20 feet and no one with a wallet out, so it became mine.
Glad you got your purse and your money back! That really is cool. I'd never take money out of someone's wallet or purse if I found it, but it's amazing how many people actually do. Kinda makes me sick.
