Smooth legs

Has anyone tried to use an epilator (hair shaver thing) on your legs at all? Just wondered if they worked at all-is the pain worth it!

Am getting so annoyed at the upkeep me legs take. (If I want them on show.) I have pale skin and dark hair, so the waxing regrowth is noticable for a couple weeks, sensitive skin so if I shave red, blotchy bits can be common. Until I win the lottery laser hair removal is a no-no. Is only a week or so a month can get me pins out, looking presentable, and never timed right with the nights I want to go to-argh!!!

I make do with 60 denier coloured tights under fishnets. Ok solution, but would love to wear nice seamed stockings with out blotches/stubble showing. If the epilator don't work, does anyone know of any good stocking brands that are denier thick enough to wear on those in between days!

Thanks!

I use an epilator and it's worth it, though it has a better effect after a shower or bath (the heat will open up your pores) I always thought that blotches are best soothed by cold water too.
It's not as bad as everyone else thinks.

I guess it depends on your skin type. Whenever I use one I always end up looking like a plucked turkey which my husband assures me is not attractive; even minus the hair. I also need a stiff drink to pluck up the courage to pluck out the wee beasties and an empty house so no one hears the screams. Is it just me?

I could never get a good result with mine just pain so gave up on it.  I have just bought a really good man's razor triple blades are great and only have to shave once a week now yahhh

I like my epilator. I think the pain can depend on the type you get, I've got this pink thing from remmington and it's not too bad, bareable and you can just run over with it once a week to remove regrowth and it is much less painfull than that first time

Waxing is the way ahead.  I'm about to sell a brilliant waxing centre on ebay, it just rolls on.  Here's an example http://www.cleanandeasy.co.uk/rollerwax.htm as there's only so much wax equipment a girl should have.

I find waxing leaves me silky smooth even the regrowth is soft and downy.

I don't think I can be trusted with waxing myself, I'd make far too much mess. I have an epilator which just didn't seem to achieve anything. So it looks like I'm stuck with shaving or hair removal cream. Which sucks.

I know, welcome to my world!!!!  Its ok if someone else is waxing you on your legs, just take a pain killer before hand.  I'm still buidling up the courage to go for my first hollywood wax but love myself too much to put myself through that amount of pain!  Unless someone can change my mind of course....

It's not the pain that bothers me, I had a Hollywood wax and didnt flinch. *shrugs* I really do need to book another one really..

I used an epilator once - OOOOOOOOOUCH! It left my skin looking awful! And I'm too scared for waxing!!!
Miss Vincent

I tried to do a home wax (with the strips) and it didn't work.  The idea of the pain doesn't bother me, it just...didn't work.  Are all strips crap, or was it just the Veet ones that I used?  I don't think i'd go for hot wax at home, too messy.  the strips were messy enough.

And i have veet warm wax for use at home..as far as im aware its crap. and the strips wernt too good either..

Arrghhh!!!! Just tried me brand new epilator and yep, it does hurt like hell!  Shocked will have to wait till morning to see if is worth it, got the lovely plucked turkey look at the mo. urgh. might have to stick to waxing, much more pleasent!
Violet Ecstasy

I have one. The first time you do it, its pretty hellish but it does get better. Also the plucked chicken look takes a while to calm down so you can't just epilate and go.
I do prefer waxing as its quicker and then its over - but I couldn't do it myself.  Shocked

I had a brazilian before my hen do and wedding - and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My underarms hurt more. Take a couple of ibuprofen beforehand and it's not too bad Smile

The epilator was definitely worse and I woudn't dare put it anywhere near my nether regions!  Shocked
Bella

Hmm, maybe I should treat my lady garden to a little wax.  I used to pluck years ago so surely waxing can't be that bad??!!!! x
