Welcome to the darkest summer in the history of Birmingham burlesque, and the culprit behind this black summer? None other than Gehenna of the Silk Stocking Striptease Show. However, never fear, bringing the light to the event will be Angel LaVey of the Silk Stocking Striptease Show. Whether you want something, light and comical or dark and deviant, the 9th Silk Stocking Striptease Show will have something for you. Pick your poison, light or dark, we have it all and we guarantee to satisfy your cravings.

The Silk Stocking Striptease Show Nine will be taking place on the 8th of August 2009 at The Flapper Pub. Tickets will cost you £7.50 in advance from www.birminghamburlesque.com and will be on sale until midday on the 8th of August. You will be able to buy tickets on the door at £9 each, subject to availability. The doors to the show open at 7:30pm and the show will begin at 8:30pm.

Mister Joe Black - the real life Disney villain and Anti-Christ of cabaret.

Fanny Divine - mixing classic glamorous burlesque with a good helping of comedy.

Paul Brook - mixing psychology and illusion together into a dangerous cocktail of amazement.

Angel LaVey - breaking all the rules because the show must go on.

Honey Wilde - unafraid of burlesquing love, ideals, political icons and even the British themselves.

Dave Dinsdale - providing some standup comedy relief.

Miss Vermilion Embers - the woman with the hula hoop.

All held together by Al Grant. You’ll never want a cure for The Alergy.

With ultra organised Peski DeVille of Missy Chango’s Boutique taking care of stage managing duties.

Despite the hacking attacks at MySpace and Facebook I'd like to point out that the show will go on - how very apt that Angel LaVey sang "The Show Must Go On" at the last show.

I regret to announce that Paul Brook has been forced to pull out of the show following a family bereavement - Angel and I send our sympathy to Paul and his loved ones during this difficult time.

Filling the mentallist shaped hole left by Paul will be a very talented Burlesque artist who is no stranger to the Birmingham scene - making her return to the Silk Stocking Striptease Show stage will be the Big Burlesque Bout finalist Leigh Mon Merringue.

Tickets are still available to buy from www.birminghamburlesque.com at £7.50. The ability to buy advance tickets will be removed midday on the 8th of August, tickets may then be brought on the door at £9 each.

I dutifully changed Paul Brook's name to Leigh Mon Meringue and then went to bed as I was tired.
