Shoes Girls! Why oh why is no one talking about shoes yet? Is it because you're all (like me) unable to stop once you start ? I shall get the ball rolling, one brag and one confession:
Brag - I got 3, yes count them 3 pairs of shoes for Christmas from my lovely, lovely bloke who knows the way to my... heart. They are all from ASOS for those who know it (shame on you those who don't, check their site out right now, but be warned you'll never want to leave!). A shiny pair of cute pink patient heels, a pair of beautiful satin bright pink with satin bows at the back and silver heels heels, and some ridiculously high an' hot black patient 'dita' ankle strap heels. Oh yes, I was a very happy bunny
So please divulge your recent shoe triumphs (and I'll share some more of mine - yes, more, I have quite a habit )
Confession - I left my job for a new one just before Christmas and part of m leaving present was vouchers for Schuh (I think everyone knows how to make me happy ) - but - I haven't actually been to spend them yet!!!
Shame on me, anyone been in recently to reccomend a special pair of 'I have new shoes and a new job' shoes?

I don't know if I dare even let you girls in on this......
This is what I wear all week.
Mornings - wellies for dog walking in woods
College and rest of week - converse or trainers
On days when I'm feeling less studenty (and don't have to be getting mucky with paint) - a selection of my boots, of which I'm a collector. Suede is a fave of mine, lace ups, victorian...
Summer - flip flops.
When do I wear nice shoes? Well, the last pair I bought were for a funeral. But, I just don't go out to anywhere that requires foxy shoes...(I can now hear you all screaming...)
THIS IS WHY I'M HERE (I can feel you girls starting to hyperventilate at my confessions). I need to seriously shake off my lazy, comfortable shoe image and VAMP IT UP!
Cherry - your man and your shoes sound absolutely divine!!!! I must go and look at that site!

Please do start me off I am a fully paid up member of shoeaholics annonymous, I enter a state of transcendental ecstasy when your foot slips into that beautiful new shoe and it fits, upon which I float on a magic carpet of shoe happines to the counter of extortion where I will happily part with whatever sum is required regardless of the fact you are spending 17 years worth of salary...... ahem, oops sorry, where was I, yes, shoes, love them

Ruby - are those your feet! They are sooo perfectly french manicured - and the shoes are fab. Stop it right now you girls... stop it I say... How can one not go orf and buy a plethora of orgasmic footwear when you talk about them in this way!?!?!?!?

I too have to admit that I have a section of shoes which I wear constantly, but it doesn't stop me buying beautiful shoes - maybe it should , I tend to totter around the house in them more than anything - there you go, another confession .
And LittleMinxtress - I had the most comfortable pair of converse's once, but have never gotten around to replacing them, although I have fallen in love with a pair in black with wings up the side. Typically once I'd made my mind up to but them - full price and all which I something I very rarely do - I just can't find them anywhere! Why does this always happen to me...

Oooh shoes! I love them possibly more than lingerie (and I adore lingerie) the right shoes make you feel amazing! They change your posture, whether they make you feel powerful and in control or delicate and girly, I love them!
I'm one of those girls who leaves the house swearing I'm not going to buy shoes, and manage to come home with one or two pairs. Which is quite an achievement for someone with size 3 feet!
My absolute favourite brands are Pleaser and Devious, total fetish shoes!
One day I plan to own these
..just as soon as I can justify spending that much money on a pair of shoes I will never, ever walk in!

Ohh Cherry - I bought those converse with the wings on the side for my daughter this Christmas. You can order converse trainers online too you know...... they do a very good service at this web address

I don't know what you two are complaining about - I am a size 1 to 2. I REALLY can't buy shoes!! I adore shoes but I just can't have them - when I am rich and famous all the clothes and shoes will be bespoke...

Lacey - I do sympathise.. my lovely mum is a size 2 and my nan was a size 1 in shoes....
My mum used to buy shoes from a shop called Lilley and Skinner who made fashionable shoes in 'tall and small' sizes... but that disappeared and now she makes do at Ravel for foxy little shoes in the kids section. Poor little love that she is!

Lacey - in an aid to help you with your tiny foot dilemma..I went searching for suppliers of little shoes. Sadly, this site only stocked shoes like this.... and I don't think they're going to be your cup of tea..

Lacey La Belle
|
Sadly you're right... do they do them in a different colour?
And I love the fact you just said 'willy'. I am so immature, that has made me giggle! Willy, willy, willy! Sorry I will behave now...

I'm afraid I'm right there with you Miss Lacey, willy willy willy I just can't stop giggling when I here that word.
I really must grow up... second thoughts thats just no fun, willy willy willy bum!

My friend's favourite insult when someone really upsets her is to call them 'a piece of poo on a stick'.
How can you be offended by something so innocent?!
Anyway I digress, back to shoes....
I need to get to Barratts on Oxford street, they do a few pairs in extra small sizes. If I cant find some plain ones I can just stick bows and stuff on them!!
|
Minnie the Minxtress
|
Hahhahhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Willy is funny isn't it? I often say 'ooh you willy' and make myself laugh in the process.
Another special in our abode is 'Who's pipped?' and at that point, everyone looks at one of the dogs. (Oh dear... it's all coming out now.)
Strangely enough - Lacey's comment about 'Poo on a stick' has really made me laugh even more.. especially because some time ago, we all went to Knole House and park and it has loads of darling little deer there, wandering around.
In an immature way (which is just up my street), my other half stabbed a piece of deer poo with a long stick, and chased the kids round and round the grass....... The Poo on a Stick episode still gets talked about in these parts..........

I absolutely adore shoes! New Look is a winner for me - Northampton has a huge one. There are lots of leather pumps in there at the moment. I got some red peep toe ones for a fiver a couple of weeks ago. Utterly devine.
I sometimes struggle finding shoes that are nice and big enough (my feet are a 7/8!!!) but now we have a really big New Look in town there is always several pairs to suit me.

I agree - New Look is the place to be for shoes at the mo! I got some bright red satin pointy-toed heels for just £15 - absolute bargain and utterly, utterly divine . There's a new store in Manc (in the new bit of the Arndale) and it's huge - the shoe section really has to be seen to be believed, anyone who's not ventured in yet definately should. That's my recommendation of the day, anyway

As a newbie I know I should show some restraint but OH MY GOD!!! How happy am I to find this thread?
Thanks for the tip on New Look in the Arndale Ms Cherry Noir. I've been a slave to Aldo (and occasionally Dune, Office and Schuh) in the Trafford Centre and I could really do with some bargains. I have 6 and a half feet which is a nightmare as so few shops do half sizes any more- 7s are too big and 6s too small *weep* There's nothing glamorous about a Scholl insole or blisters, let me tell you
My latest acquisitions are below. Almost to good to wear outside......
I also own a pair of 6" heels that have never left the bedroom but it is my avowed goal to be able to walk in them unaided

I have the same problem with the lack of half sizes. I bought these shoes a little while back....for these I'm prepared to suffer the indignity of a shoe insert!

Also, I have to add that the pair of shoes I own that get the most compliments are in fact from...Debenhams!
They're red patent with white piping and not only are they pretty but quite comfy too (well, for at least 3 hours anyway).
What's more, they were only £25!!!! Bargain!

Ladies, I am going to confess why I'm in university. the reason is a simple five letter word called shoes. I rpomised myself that should I ever graduate I will reward my efforts with a pair of Christian Louboutins and because I recently discovered i have different sized feet, I am hoping to have a pair of bespoke Louboutins instead of a pair from his latest collection in two years time.
Ruby can I have the link to shoes addicts anonymous? I think I should go.

Also I proudly own a wardrobe full of shoes (70% are not with me in university) which is a shame.

ooooh i too own a shoe wardrobe from floor to ceiling (victorian terrise house) and i still cant get them all in - i do love shoes.....
shoes, shoes la de da shoes!! kitten heels some higher and my my some that are 5 inches and oh platform heels with deadly spikes for heels and platform boots (shiny black) er.... shoes!!!!!!!!!

lol shoe wardrobes are great. Nothing shows of a pair of shoes better than a shelf for them to sit on! Though I'm not sure if it's just me but i can spend ages cleaning my shoes! I'll go out one night then realise that I have beer and mud all over them (which breaks my little crystal heart) and I'd spend ages cleaning them. Am I alone on this?

Shoes, shoes, fabulous shoes! Great to find other ladies who are unable to resist a lucious pair of heels - no matter that they aren't really practicle (at all), are going to take you over your overdraft limit, probably aren't that comfy and are quite difficult to walk / totter about in - if your heart says yes (and mine usually does) buy em anyway I say

You are quoting my life!!!
Though as a lass with size 3 feet i have never had trouble finding gorgeous pairs!! Schuh, Kurt Geiger, Shelleys, Charity shops (yes really) and Selfridges sales! I think i stopped counting at 60 pairs though we are talking 13 years of ardent purchasing...
I also intend to own a pair of ballet stillettos - i need to find them in size 3 - i have to have them, i have a burlesque act planned around them!

I've only just found this thread. Shoes are my raison-d'etre. I bought my first pair of high heels when I was 15 and high heels have been welded to my feet since then.
Favourite shoe shops: Dune, Office, Aldo, Next for work shoes, New Look for some stonking bargains, ASOS and anywhere else I see them.
