Red hair dye, blonde bits, and going orange, help!

I dyed my hair a gorgeous shade of red last month, kept two of my blonde streaks and just dyed over the rest, as the dyes faded they've gone a bit orangey. I also just want to keep the one blonde bit at the front now so I was thinking perhaps if I dye it all brown, then dye the red over the top it might help a bit?

Is this a crap idea?

Hi honey
that does sound like a bad idea.  I am guessing that the red hair has mixed into the blonde when you wash it.  The only way of stopping this happening is to wrap up the blonde bits when you wash in tinfoil or something.  I had to do that when I had black bits and mostly blonde.  I would go chat to a hairdresser they give advice for free.

My blonde bit at the front is fine, its just the blonde bits that I actually dyed over where the dyes faded on them.

Red dye always fades fast. All you can do is redye it.

Yes take it from a girl who has battled a red streak in the front of her hair for years, for really bright red you need to dye it about once a week, it always fades very quickly. Youc an get so called permenant red dyes but they fade and go orangey too so you just have to keep re-dying the red, its a real chore.

its hard to keep blonde streaks as the other colours run when you wash your hair.

red also stains the most.

what do you want to do? im confused?

you want to keep blonde bits, or dye them brown?
