Not Announcing The Line Up vs. Announcing The Line UpHi peeps - please can you help me discuss something that has been swimming around in my mind for a while.
To my knowledge the majority of UK Burlesque shows announce their line-ups in advance, but recently I seen two shows that either haven't announced their line-ups or only partially announced them.
My normal process is to announce the full line-up at least a month in advance.
But I'm wondering what you prefer or feel works best?
Do you like to know who's on the bill and what your hard earned cash is paying for or do you like the idea of a show being like a lucky dip, every act coming as a huge surprise?
Your thoughts please.

I would rather know the lineup, and wouldnt completely trust a show without knowing it, unless the promoter or venue was very well established.

I always like to see it in advance, the sooner the better, if you've got a line up to be proud of show it off as soon as you have it confirmed! I dont understand keeping things like that secret

i dunno mate.
i think that if you have trained for your act and perfected it, or not being paid very much for it, then you would want your name to be on the bill. to promote ones own name or act.
on the other hand if things went wrong, and acts were being thrown toghether or if it was a last minute thing, then you could probally get away with it, but not quiet get the quality of punters that you might want.
