Newcomers - Friday April 3rd

It's good to see lots of new names on here - now I can check out my competition properly! (jk)

I don't get out much, so Bella's the only one I've actually seen perform before. I think it's the only show I'm going to be at, so I'm planning on trying to spend as much time as possible being a spectator Smile

See you all there,
Bea xx
VJ Spankie

No not at all, I think 4 mins is enough for any one who is new .

I am just eiditing mine down. I suppose it's quality not quantity, I was a little worried about fixing the soundtrack to fit but I've got it sorted now.
Realy looking forward to meeting you all xx

That the bit thats worrying me, not the routine just the music editing!  I'm not the most computer savvy person as it is and I need to get nearly a minute off mine  Shocked  are there any idiot proof systems or hints about?

I am not that computer savvy either but the most basic way to do it is go into  I-tunes right click on the song then click on "Get Info" and then Click on "change stop time" or if you want to take a bit off at the start click on "change start time". Thats what I am doing for now untill I can find a better way.

I was recommended a free program called Audacity - it seems to do the trick
Beyond the Cabaret

Hi All

Just to reassure you all, 4 mins is quite a common duration for any Burlesque act...as it was stated it's about quality not quantity so don't worry.

I would recommend that everyone downloads Audacity and gets to grips with it. It might seem daunting at first but it's quite simple really and will become a really important tool for future performances. Not only can you shorten tracks but you can also blend tracks together...so much better than handing the dj a cd with a few tracks on and asking him to skip to track two after 55 seconds of track one!!!

Sean
Suave

I'm with Sean -- Audacity is so simple to use after just a coupla minutes playing around with it. You can edit entire songs, do remixes, change tempos....pretty much everything you need to be a little Fatboy Slim!

okay have downloaded it, am going to have a play and see what I can do Smile
Moonlight Desire

ooh btw, where is everyone staying??  I'm hoping to sort my accommodation this week!
VJ Spankie

WooHoo!! Thanks for the Audacity tip guys. What a fab little program Smile
