LBF NEEDS YOU!!! What were your favourite festival moments?

Hallo BurlyQ crew! Lucilla D'Ville, festival bloggadista sista here!

The new LBF website will be up soon, announcing Chaz's plans for the LBF'10, and taking a look back at this year's festival.

This is your opportunity to let the LBF know what YOU thought. Please let us know and don't hold back! Your festival needs you!

What were your best moments of the LBF 2009?
How did it compare to last year?
What did you really love about the festival?
What would you do to improve it?
What did you think of the venues? Presenters?
Should the 'stage maids' get a special award?!
Wanna see more boylesque?
What kinds of opportunities does it present for performers and burlesque fans?
What would you say to any burlesque virgins out there who are thinking of getting involved?

How has burlesque developed and what part has the LBF had?

And...

...absolutely anything else you want to say!

Looking forward to hearing your views.

Unfortunately I only got to go to the Friday night that I was performing at, so this is for that:

Should the 'stage maids' get a special award?!

Definitely! They were awesome, and even just reading Loula Cherry's LBF diary I felt tired. Plus Sean was brilliant.

The LBF Newcomer's competition was a bit of a shock after going to watch at Bush Hall last year - I really wasn't expecting such a huge venue

The Scala was really nice - you seemed to be able to get a good view of the stage regardless of where you were - it could do with installing a lift though instead of all those stairs though.. Our hosts were lovely, it was really nice to meet Matt Fraser

Not falling over on stage, and buying a half price Sakura hat! Smile

Sakura style

Fantastic feedback thanks!

I totally agree about those stage maids! Brought a whole new world of style to the job - amazing.

Glad to hear about the Sakura hat - those hats are LUSH.

Thanks again - now all you other folk - what did YOU think?

I'm still writing mine - will post shortly!

What were your best moments of the LBF 2009?

seeing my friends perform. watching some kerfuffles. hehe

How did it compare to last year?

i think last year had more variety in the costume stakes.

What did you really love about the festival?

seeing so many different performers from all over the place.

What would you do to improve it?

only one or two fan dancers per night please.

What did you think of the venues? Presenters?

lovely venues, shame about soho revue bar. hosts were great and its nice to get introduced to new hosts.

Should the 'stage maids' get a special award?!

definitely, they're always so lovely. and work very hard. especially sean who never says a cross word. well not to me anyway!

Wanna see more boylesque?

definitely. theres only so many women one can watch!

What kinds of opportunities does it present for performers and burlesque fans?

it projects you into a wider audience, as alot of other performers and promoters from all over attend.

What would you say to any burlesque virgins out there who are thinking of getting involved?

try and be imaginative. im sick of fans and stockings being taken off in the same way Surprised/

How has burlesque developed and what part has the LBF had?

its now got a wide appeal and has become quite mainstream, largely helped by all the promo LBF does. which means more clubs out there paying more performers.
it just means there alot of similarity so performers definitely need to up the stakes and go further with their ideas. its a good thing to push boundaries. theres alot of amazing and talented people popping up everywhere, or have now got the promo they deserve. yay!

GO BOYS GO!

Amazing feedback, thanks Miss Baby Bones.

It's great if the festival facilitates bookings as well as providing a great show for audiences.

I'm interested to hear that the variety of costumes was excellent last year. It was my first festival and the variety and creativity of the themes and costumes (octupus mermaid sushi obsessive eating her own tentacles anyone? As for that Lamb Chop Magoo lady...) blew me away.

I TOTALLY agree about the boys! But I also love that its such a female environment. How do others feel about that?

All really interesting, thanks
