Lactose intollerance? If you remember from the other thread - I can't have cows milk! It makes my tummy hurt beyond belief! Not fun at all.
So I go shopping with my Dad, just helping him out and he tells me to go and get soy and normal milk when I spot something marvellous. Lactose free cows milk. How strange. I picked up the carton and read about it and most of the lactose has been replaced with lactase.
Quick biology lesson here. Lactose is a sugar, that is digested by the enzyme lactase. People with an intollerance to lactose are lacking in lactase. So by replacing the lactose with lactase, I have a comfy belly when eating cheese sandwiches!
I thought this was marvellous and would share with you as i remember a couple of other people mentioning that they were lactose intollerant. Its called "Lactofree" or soemthing, and is in a cow patterned box.

mmmmm I love cow patterns......
Sorry think I may be in the wrong thread.
Thanks for the tip Miss Sadie, there's a few of us on here with bodies that try to dictate to us what we can and can't eat!

Good to know.
I used to carry a bottle of lactase enzyme tablets with me when I went for dinner or on holiday. By swallowing the enzymes first you're body is better able to deal with any forthcoming lactose you may digest. Not really suitable for use everyday though apparently...
