Ixion ....Does anyone know much about the burlesque stage play of "Ixion" that Lydia Thomson did in the 1860s?
I have Lydia's biography so I know everything it says in there, and ive googled "Ixion" and found a bit more info.
But im trying to find more specifics about the content of the actual show they did based on the Greek legend.
Anyone have any more information?

Jesus, I wish. I honestly don't think you're going to get a lot more info than you've already got. I've looked.
I wish I could have been around to see what they made of it back then. I have a feeling it was probably an amazing show.
If anyone decides to revive it, the only thing I could advise is to research the mythology as deeply as possibly and then try to make a really good summary of it come to life on stage while injecting the right amount of satire and comedy into it. I'd be knocked completely sideways if someone could do it right.

America is so spread out and the burlesque scenes are so far away from each other that there's no way I could possibly find out who it was that revived it unless the info was on Google. Do you happen to know who it was or which city it was in?
