High Tease Edinburgh

Hello I'm new to the forums and have only just joined.  Also I'm having trouble uploading my photo.  Might be something to do with my work.  I'll get there.  Anway  I've recently returned from Edinburgh where I saw the High Tease show.  It was dreadful and  said so on an official fringe review.  They took my review down. I don't know why.  I wrote in and they said it was a mistake and put it up again and it's now mysteriously been removed again.  I just find it interesting and bizarre that all of the bad reviews have been removed and wondered if anybody else had experienced this, especially any of the other one star people.
Miss Baby Bones

welcome aboard the BWI

theres so many different shows out there, one mans meat is anothers poison, as they say. i hope you'll continue to go to burly shows as theres loads out there right now, especially where you're based in london.

have you caught any other shows recently?

id recommend everyone's best friend, sean mooney's show The Tiger's Rear

Interesting as the same thing happened to me.  I went with my boyfriend to this show and felt enraged enough to actually write a review.  I can't remeber actually what I said because it was on the fringe site and so when it was taken down it wasn't recorded.  I remember seeing lots of bad reviews and thought it's ok the to write one.  I don't see what's inappropiate about saying that the show was amateur and not worth the money or that there were bettter cabaret shows that we'd seen.  So like Burlesque Kitten I was very surprised to see my review deleted.  I couldn't be bothered writing to the fringe but thoughtv that it might be of interest here especially after seeing the initial thread.

sneaky sneaky club noir.

these profiles are quite obviously set up to slander,
and its unfair. so please do go away.
it also explains in the thread why the fake reviews were taken down

much love,

i know your feelings on the MOB,
but i have friends in that show, and what club noir have done happens to be completely disrespectful
all politics out of the way - just because they're a rival club does not give them the right to insult someone personally
if you don't enjoy a show - fine
but calling someone ugly and that their costume is shit is not constructive,
so what. they dont like MOB. then they should prove that with figures and show turn outs, not by making fake profiles.
its playground shit

i'm saying this to avoid a slagging off match on this thread
it would really sadden me to see it turn into a full scale hate section...

once again from a very NEUTRAL joe.

Hello my darlings, I'm sorry I've been a stranger on here for a wee while, and such a shame that I'm jumping back in on this thread.

All I would like to add to this is before anyone jumps to any conclusions please read between the lines.  The instigator of the other thread claims only to have been associated with Club Noir and of course no one ever goes on line just to write nasty things just the truth.

Given the amount of "sock puppet" personas, cyber squatting, slander, libel and legal threats that have been flying around the world of burlesque recently I would strongly advise that anyone reading any of this pap sits back, makes a coffee and draws a deep breath before they jump to any conclusions or even better ignores this whole purile and childish débacle.

The best advice I can give is to talk to people in person and go on your own quest for truth, never take heresay as gospel. Speak to performers who have worked for the various parties involved, speak to other promoters, venues and stage crew.

And remember, the truth will always out.

There shouldn't be this much commotion over this. The more attention it gets, the more it'll happen. Just ignore the jackasses. It helps if you go outside and do other things rather than speculating as to who or what is trying to destroy you.
Miss Baby Bones

i agree with HG, and would just like to add, YAWN to the whole thing.

But it is unfair to those who do wish to express their opinion whether that be a positive or negative one

Now, moving on and to the point Baby Bones made -

Sean has his next Beyond the Cabaret at the Tiger Rear on the 23rd September.

Please have a look at his website for the most amazing lineup ever (in my humble opinion) and to book tickets.

I shall be there added my own touch of glammer whilst working on the door - anyone coming along???
