Help!!! newbie needs help

Hello  all,

I love vintage and after meeting the perfect Ms Dita Von Teese recently,  I want to be just like her!!!

So..... can someone give me a few pointers? I am so new to this  Sad

All my friends are the same old sheep following the Kate Moss fashion!! Never been for me, far too scruffy! I was always the friend wearing a pencil skirt & tight top just to hang around the park!!!

Look forward to your advice

Hi honey
not really sure what pointers you need.  Do you just want to look like Dita or do you want to become a burlesquer?

Okay well I can't help with everything but I guess if you took a picture of what you want most hairdressers will be able to do it.  I might be wrong as I just get mine bleached at a hairdresser and then I do the rest myself.  As for clothes it depends on your budget but try second hand shops, vintage shop, the net ebay, Mataland even have corsets at the moment as do primark.
There are plenty of books and info on the net so my advice is go do some research.  This is a good place to ask questions and everyone is lovely.

Hi Tullulah and welcome, although we are all into very similar things on this forum we all have quite different distinct styles. Figure out what sort of look you are going for and then try and piece it together from high street, internet etc. The clothing section of this forum has some good links if you trawl through old posts.
If you want to get into the burlesque scene try and get to some burly nights and see what its all about first hand!

Welcome to forum Miss Tullulah, why don't you come to our Pyjama party in London on Saturday, it's a sleep over so you won't have to worry about getting the last train, and we can indoctrinate you into the wonderful world of burliness. And as for you hair and makeup, maybe I could give in impromtue lesson too.

I shall pm you the details.
