Haircut advice!

I'm growing out my fringe, and my layers, to make it easier to style my hair in victory rolls and other 1940s styles, and also because my layers sometimes make it difficult to tie my hair back at certain heights, and the hairdresser I went to up here didn't do a very good job and my hair is all over the place.

I have quite alot of hair, so I don't want all of it to all be one length, what is the best way to ask my hairdresser to cut it, without having a million layers allover my hair, and keeping it all mostly long?

Not being too biased but I find asian hairdressers tend to cut thick hair (and lots of it) really well. Also I found actually going into the hairdressers in victory rolls so they could see how you like to have your hair up helps. There's no better way than letting someone know what you want by showing them. Good luck!

Honestly, if I went to the hairdressers with my hair in victory rolls they'd give me a haircut that resembled a birds nest, thats how bad my victory rolls are at the moment! I'll have to have a nosy round and see if there are any asian hairdressers in Harrogate!

The hairdresser I went to kind of went off on her own thing despite me explaining my fear of having my hair cut and explaining to her that I wanted to grow my layers out and also how I liked my fringe and where my parting was, and I was too scared to say anything!!!

I found an  article somewhere that explained about layers and 1940s hairstyles, it meant nothing to me but might make sense to a hairdresser. I'll have to find it!

DO you think it's a good idea booking consultations with a few different salons before my next haircut? Can I do that?
