Finger in the Pie seek PR PartnerFinger in the Pie CabaretPR Partner Ever wanted to promote your very own Burlesque and Cabaret Night? Finger in the Pie Are Looking for a PR Partner to help them run their monthly Finger in the Pie Cabaret Showcase at London’s Madame JoJo’s. We’re looking for someone with a huge amount of enthusiasm for the world of Cabaret and Burlesque who can help us promote the event on a monthly basis. A little about you: * Experience of PR and/or copy writing * Good Organisational Skills * Enthusiastic about Cabaret and Burlesque * Good understanding of internet and social networks * Organisation or Individual A little about the position: You will be responsible for promoting the monthly showcase, running our Facebook and Myspace pages and sending out mailings over our various mailing lists. Most of this can be done in your own time via the internet. Payment will be via a straight profit share between Finger in the Pie Theatre Company and yourself. A little about the Showcase: Finger in the Pie Cabaret has been running in Madame JoJo’s since February 2006. It is a showcase both for new acts and new material from established acts who work in burlesque, cabaret, vaudeville, sketch comedy or variety. While similar showcase services in the theatre world charge participants up to £40 to participate, we offer this service to new cabaret performers for free – it’s open to anyone who wants to check out new material or who has never performed in front of a live audience before. We have a completely open door policy – as long as a performance is legal we’re happy to showcase it. We also try to offer a lot of support and nurturing to the first timers before and during the event. As a result Finger in the Pie Cabaret Showcase has been the first step for a huge number of performers entering the professional world of Cabaret and Burlesque. Giving first time acts the opportunity to showcase their talents, Finger in the Pie Cabaret has launched the careers of many new burlesque acts, including the much vaunted Bourgeois and Maurice; it has also been a test bed for new material from established acts, including the infamous Scottish magicians Stuart and Barry, and has allowed a whole host of debauched divas to shake out their performance cobwebs on one of London's most celebrated cabaret stages.
