feather fans staves - bamboo or acrylic?hi need some feather fans for an act im working on. wonder who here makes them and what they use? if i made them myself what is better to use for staves - bamboo or acrylic?

Bamboo staves are lighter, so may be easier to use. But they're not as sturdy 
I've had to do some emergency repair work on mine, but the helpful man at Dockerills recommended coating them in diluted PVA glue to stop them splitting.

I use bamboo staves. I prefer the fluidity of movement you can create with them. Acrylic staves tend to hold open and in place during performance, but have the capacity to fold away for transportation and storage.
Bamboo staves tend to need a little strengthening if you're using them for a double layer of feathers.
If using 3+ layers I'd recommend acrylic. x
