Dye

Whats the best hair dye to use if you dont want it to be permanent?

Preferably so it gives a really good colouring (such as red), but will wash out totally after a couple of days?

Most of them are pretty good - but it sounds like you want a wash in, wash out one. They tend to tone down after the friest wash and then are gone totaly after a couple.
I find a good sized Superdrug hold a good range that are in expensive.

just go to boots or w/e and have a look in hair dyes there should be semi permant stuffs that last 6-10 washes or something right now i have a '6-10' washes thing in and it has lasted longer its kinda red its cost me 2 squid but i am blonde so dyes show up better

You could always just dye back over it. Since you have darker hair, that makes it an easy possibility. I know it's a pain in the ass but if all else fails...

Well its mainly for a short film we plan to make in a few months.

My hair is kind of dark auburn, and I want it either red or white, and I doubt white is an option?

Not unless you use coloured hairspray or mascara, and they tend to look a bit crap.

You should be able to find a red wash in wash out hair dye

You may be able to find it in Boots, there's a brand called ColourFX that's pretty good

hair in a can

I'd go for the can so you can have a spare and do touch ups for continuety. It's easier to spray than pay for 6 or seven sachets.

Having said that if your after red wella do some sweet colours.

I would have suggested hint of a tint but i can't find it anywhere ?
