just wanted to let you all know about the 'Dippers and Dunkers' , new variety and Burlesque festival weekend in sunny Margate.

It runs from Sat 22 - Sun 23rd Aug - with shows, workshops, authentic seaside side shows, tattoo exhibitions, talks.
Simon and Fred Bear , Diva Hollywood and Amber Topaz are performing.

If all goes to plan - then next year will be a week long event.

yay! How have I not heard about this before? Tis the start of Rob's annual leave and we've been plotting what to do, so this sounds like a good start to it...

glad you like the sound of it! I am running a beginners Burlesque workshop on the saturday, Diva Hollywood running one on sunday. And i know that Heather Sawney the arts dev officer may still be looking fir volunteers stewards etc in exchange for free tickets to the shows. So do feel free to contact her at Thanet District Council.

And if anyone fancies a pre festival meet up let me know and we can arrange a time and place to eat cake and drink wine!

I am really looking forward to this. Fred will be running a class I think on Saturday. Its my first workshop so be gentle on me ladies lol
Thrilby not sure where they are putting me but will let you know as soon as I do. I am performing at Dr Sketchy in Nottingham on Saturday day then hopefully getting there in time to do the show.

Acommodaton wise - i know a few places in ramsgate / broadstairs which are towns about 15 mins away i can dig out details if you like.

Diva , i run workshops alot - you'll be fine, in fact wonderful, if the glowing reviews from fred are anything to go by. I'm looking forward to having a drink with you on the fri night after the show.
