Dammit, Colour is so expensive!!!!!

Ok, I had a blonde moment and bleached all my lovely dark hair platinum blonde. Now I need to go back to dark, and its going to cost me £90 for colour plus more for a trim and a blow dry!!!!!!!!!! ARG.

Sooooo glad I'm not a woman. 12 years of dying my hair black and I've never paid more than $6 for my hair dye. I do it myself at home and it always looks great because I don't have to style or highlight or any of that noise.

I really dodged the bullet with this whole Y chromosome business.
Lily Belle

Just because of your chromosomes lost a leg!
Herr Geist

Hey, toots, we gave you a rib! haha.

No, you're definitely right. Men are deficient. Wink
Miss Baby Bones

if you're having your whole hair coloured, cut and styled in a salon that is CHEAP lady!

down in brighton you'd be looking at £150 starting price!! for mid length hair, not long!

Sadly this is a time when you need a good hairdresser going from blond to dark again is usually where you can go the most delightful shade of green! as you hair is currently missing any red pigmentation. blah blah blah, sorry *slinks off*

I gave up doing mine the cheep way after bleaching my scalp off, or going many shades of yellow or blue with old lady rinses.  Its worth every penny and I still have hair that is in good condition which is remarkable considering its pure white.
I do consider going dark just cos you ladies have it easy when it comes to how many times you have to do your routes.

Yes, but all this advice is no good if I can't afford it in the first place! Its my own fault, I had a bad break up, and decided that being blonde was the answer to all my problems!
You are all going to have to get me some jobs so my hair can stay healthy (strange plug......) Lol!

I can understand that, I cut off my lovely long thick hair into a very very short bob after a break up and within and hour or two hated it! My hair is mad and curly and used to take ages to tame, and I also look very much like my dad with short hair! I learnt my lesson though, its long again now and has been for many years
Lily Belle

Oh yes, i've cut it all off once or twice too!
Diva Hollywood

Some places offer student nights so you get a low cost cut or color down by a trainee.  Or you can also offer yourself up as a model.  When I had a bob cos it was so straight I used to get it cut and blown dry for free as it was the perfect style for the students to do.  as I was only getting a trim it was great for me.

I've had all my hair (well, not all, but gone from well beyond shoulder length, to about an inch) because of wanting a 'fresh start'!  Always regret it eventually.

I think Diva's on to something.  Either see if a salon has a trainee, or even go to the training studios.  I know in Manchester (an I am sure many other places) Wella and Tony & Guy (doubtless others too) have academies where you can get your hair done cheap.  It sometimes takes much longer, but if it saves you money, it's probably worth it!

Ok, I've found the money (technicaly its not mine) And will be a brunette again by tomorrow evening.

wish me luck!
Lola

Hope it went well.

I'm of to banish those silver tinsel strands. Home job as my money is needed elsewhere.
