Compact Powder and Case Question...Hi Girls...
I want to buy a beautiful compact with a mirror so I can powder my nose whilst I'm out, in style!
This may sound a bit daft, but do you buy compact powders then prise them out of their cases and put them in your posh compact instead? I have NO idea of what to do or how this works, as I have always used a loose powder.
Thank you in advance...

I haven't checked recently but most pressed powders come with a little hole on the back of the casing so you can push the tip of a pencil in and release the tray of pressed powder. Just be careful about sizes/diameters as they can vary from product to product. Although you can repress crumbled or broken powder by pressing it into shape in the mould and gently spritz with water and leave to dry.

That is such a fantasic tip Ruby, I'm staggered by the depth of your (genuinely useful) beauty knowledge! I've lost count of the number of 'powders' I've had to throw away or use regardless due to sheer lack of funds for new ones after determindly prizing them out of their bland packaging and into my wonderful pretty compacts I'm almost tempted to vandalise another now, just to test your tip out, lol!

What a beautiful picture I have now of you vandalising make-up! I have large amounts of my brain space taken up with make-up trivia if only I could pay as much attention to politics or global warming I could make much more useful comments and save the world, sadly that will never be so I shall just stick to what I know best.

pricey for the compact but you can buy refills for it and it can last a lifetime!

I wondered how long it would take Besame to finds it's way onto a thread. I have been reading lovely reports about this make-up and the company wants to stay true to vintage colours and looks, it really would be lovely to see it in Harrods or Selfridges. Our American cousins in the vintage scene rave about it.

Besame is really lovely, but I've been told really really little. If anyone is interested there is a seller on ebay called "cosliquidator" selling Besame stuff thats been discontinued. I got a trio set, and the packaging is gorgeous, but the lipstick and rouge are tiny! And I do mean tiny!
But the translucent poswder smells of vanilla, so I'm in love

Ooh, I've always wanted to try Besame products, I like that you can order trial sizes, but everytime I've sat down to give it a go, my 'just a few samples' order becomes huge and then I can't decide - give me more than two choices of red lipstick and I'll be pondering for hours
Vanilla scented powder you say though? Hmm, maybe I'll give that a whirl (although I definately won't be vandalising that one...)
