Burly perfumes and scents?

I used to love the Body Shop's Tobacco Flower which sounds vile but smelt divine and was in a really nice art decco style glass bottle... then they stopped making it! Grrr! I always thought that smelt quite burly.

Just wondering if there are any perfumes that have burlesque connections or are considered to be burly?
Innocent Twist

I don't know about burly connections; but I've just discovered one that makes me not want to wear anything else - not a stitch. I think it's like lingerie in a bottle. As soon as I put it on I feel sexy as hell! I guess it's not for everyone as it's quite spicy and potent but I adore it. It's supposed to be a combo of rose, amber and patchouli. Midnight Poison by Christian Dior. Mmmm. Makes one feel entirely womanly.
Diva Hollywood

Hi honey
I am a channel girl and always have been at the moment I will not wear anything else but Chance and don't feel right on stage if I have not got it on.

Ah yes Channel! I LOVE Coco Channel Madamoiselle...that is my "Evening out" scent! Lol!
Fleur du Mal

My mum used to use the original Poison and I loved it as a kid - that plastic crystal lid was always being stolen and used as some sort of jewel in my games! That Midnight Poison sounds fab Innocent, I love patchouli. But the only perfume I've ever used is Amor Amor, really nice and girly scent!
Innocent Twist

Honestly Fleur; check it out at your local perfume counter. It makes me purrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Bella Sicilia

My mum used to use that too! I remember it now with the crystal lid! Awwww I love that perfume... aint smelled it for years! A trip to the perfume shop is on the cards me thinks!

Innocent - I think I will!

BB - do it! There's something about that woman that really grates on me - oh yes, it's the lack of talent ...

(I'm not bitchy really ^_^)

Poison makes me sick I can not stand the stuff I can't not be near anyone wearing it I don't what it is but its like I have an allergic reaction to the stuff.
Sorry ladies if you like it and you are wearing it and I am not friendly don't take it personally lol

The Penhaligons range of perfumes are rather splendid, I wear Malabah, it's rather exotic.

I love using BPAL perfume oils - hellcat being my fave
Tullulah

I personally love Dior Poisen, everyone always compliments me on it!
I love the bottle design!

You should go and see some of B Make up (sister company of Lush) their perfumes are divine & the bottle have the little puff spray!!!
Piccadilly

Have a try of the B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful range - 1000 Kisses Deep is my favourite scent.  There are even fans imbued with their scents, and in some of their ranges, pomanders.
Ruby Rose

They do make rather lovely scents, it's just such a shame their make up is such poor quality as the packaging is divine too.

Piccadilly

It is, rather.  Their eyecreams are the best make up product they do, imo, but their perfumes are fantastic.  Like Ladyboy, or Dirty, which I think were aimed at men, buy smell nice anyway!
Millie Dollar

i use agent provocatuer, it's lovely, and their new scent maitresse is also devine!! their new range model is terrible too, the one from secretry, i want that job and think i'd be better!! Wink
Ruby Rose

Oooh that's my scent du jour I love it.

It's quite cheap (which is always a bonus!) but I do like the M&S scent Bloom.  It smells very bergamot-y, which I love...because I like Earl Grey tea.  It kind of smells like a more flowery Earl Gray scent...but I adore the smell of tea, and find it quite sensual, so there you go.

That makes me sound rather wierd.   Shocked
Ruby Rose

Ha ha not on this forum  Shocked

i love flower bomb by rolf and victor
yummy!!

I recently started using Paul Smith Rose - supporting my local nottingham designer (like he needs my help lol!)  It pretty much just smells like rose water, makes me feel like a true english rose its lovely and really old fashioned.

I used to use Gaultier Classique which is a bit obvious but i liked the smell and im very picky, and the bottle looks so cute on my bedside table lol.

My mum always worse Chanel No 5 when i was a kid so it brings back loads of memories whenever i smell it, i think thats a true classic fragrance, you cant go wrong.
CharlotteThomson

Oh and might i add after 3 years of saying 'mmmm you smell' in a slightly derrogatory tone, my boyfriend finally said 'you smell...nice!' when i started wearing Rose. Result! lol

Coco by Chanel (the original 1980s one) is the girl for me!!
Cherry Noir

I love buying perfumes, I have loads although to be honest I usually buy them as much for the bottle as for the smell!

Some of my top 'smells' are: Dior addict, which is my performing one, DKNY is my 'not performing but doing something Cherry Noir-ish' one, Angel is my favourite going out one and my all time favourite is Les Belle De Ricci, the scent of my mis-spent youth - unfortunately discountinued now, but I do have a couple of bottles stock-piled and stashed away for emergencies  Wink   I also really do love the pink Brittany one, think it's Fantasy, although I got Paris Hilton's for Christmas this year and whenever I wear it I get accused of smelling like a whore...

I wanted Boudior for the bottle just as much as the smell
Violet Ecstasy

I'll have to have a smell of this Boudoir - I thought I had but maybe I didn't.

I got Delices De Cartier for my wedding and I lurve it Smile

I've also got Angel & Armani Elle/She that I wear quite often. I used to love All About Eve by Joop! It smelled of apples  Smile
Cherry Noir

Ooh, I do love appley fragrances, must seek that one out!  My very best apple smell was a Lush soap called Temptation - it was bright green and smelt of crisp, tart apples and cinnimon.  When I found out they were discontinuing it (as is the way with all my favorite scents, and annoyingly red lipsticks), I went out and bought 1kg of it - I still have a chunk left hidden in a draw that I can't bring myself to use as it my last - yes, I am a bit of a horder  Embarassed
Violet Ecstasy

That's the kind of thing I would do  Laughing

ma all time fave was senci by georgio armani but ....... blub...... they discontinued it last year  Crying or Very sad
lushem

I cant wear perfumes, They always smell so nice on others, but when i put them on they smell rank!
Emerald_Ace

I wear versache(or however you spell it)  red jeans in the day (i think it smells a bit like red jelly laces) and AP maitresse on nights out.

I used to love the perfumes from Sephora ... they did a tangerine one (not just regular orange but tangerine! drool) and a parma violet one... i do love violet... but i don't live anywhere near a sephora and anyway i think that range was discontinued (nuts!)

I remember buying a perfume in the 1980s called My Sin (it was by Arpege) simply because I loved the name!  From memory it was quite bitter but I loved it ayway, and it came in a red box.  I'd love to have another smell of it, but I expect it is long gone.

Oh smells, they are so evocative.
Ginger Snaps

Eternity

and

Eau Dynamisante

Love them!

I had a bottle of tobacco flower years ago.
Innocent Twist

I wear the new Stella in the purple bottle for daytime. It's just a touch more heady than the original.

I use Tigi Oatmeal & Cookie body wash and moisturiser, Oatmeal & Honey Shampoo & Conditioner and Palmers Cocoa Butter body shine topped off with L by Lolita Lempicka EDP.  Is wanting to smell like cake a fetish? Smile

I'm a Jo Malone girl.

My fave is figs and Cassis. And I love the whole scent combining, you really can tailor something to suit your personality/mood/time of day etc.

I highly reccomend her stuff Smile

I have worn Boudoir too, for years, I totally love it. mmm, it is gorgeous.
A Thrifty Mrs

I love DNKY Be Delicious, love the apple tones. People stop me and ask me what it is quite often.
I feel pretty sexy when I wear Stella McCartney Peony. It's divine and very slightly sexily heady.
Lily Belle

Origins Ginger essence in the Winter
Jo Malone Honey and Nectarine blossom in the Summer

On the subject of perfumes we are allergic to, I seem to be intolerant towards Clinique Happy, It makes me sneeze and cough, which is a pity, as I really like the smell
Dolly Divine

I like Hugo Deep red and Lush's signiture scent (although it makes me really hungry!)

I use The Body Shop's Neroli Jasmine during the day though. I buy it as the body spray as it is cheaper and just as nice.

My dad is getting me Notorious by Ralph Louren for Christmas and my nan is getting me Deep Red.

I have a love for fragrances and for the bottles. I have a bit of a collection. I also like the victorian style butterfly decorative bottles you can buy.
