An Ideal PipeI have just recalled something that a Scout leader I know told me once that seemed appropriate to put in here.
When he was at university he had a friend who was doing a physics degree and had an intention of getting his PhD to become a professor. His dream was that he would buy a wooden pipe and somehow convert it into a bubble pipe so that when he was teaching his class he could then when pondering a question he could blow bubbles rather than smoking tobacco.
I thought such a device could perhaps be appropriate for the non-smokers who wish to frequent this room.

That does sound like a rather fine idea indeed. As a commited pipe smoker - or rather a pipe smoker who was once commited i find the idea delightful.

I think there is indeed a market for this pipe of which you speak, could we please have the elegant long clay variety for the ladies please?

On the subject of pipes! What is the pipe that people use thats connected to a bigger thing in the middle of the table and passed round?? Saw this in a bar in Brighton the other week - I thought it was only a drug thing!
Sorry for the ignorance..

Thats a hookah pipe - the catarpillar in Alice in Wonderland has one! Yay!
Its not a drug thing - you smoke molasses through it. Its a sticky flavoured tobacco, usually fruity. Its traditional to share one after a meal in places like Morocco. They are seen as trendy in some parts ^_^
I would LOVE a bubble pipe! You can only get rubbish plastic ones though!

What short memories you have ladies, there's a Shisha (Egyptian Water Pipe) pipe in my kitchen, upon which my flatmates and I often imbibe with a nice glass of pimms out on the balcony of a summers afternoon. The apple flavoured Shisha is rather yummy.
I shall let you know when the next party happens!

When I smoked them in Egypt the waiters would all come and stare and point and giggle, you see I provide free entertainment where ever I go!
