Alone for ValentinesDear Auntie Bettie,
I just don't know what to do, I really am at my whits end. For years I have styled my hair, rouged my knees and worn my seams straight. What is a girl to do to attract a man? I bake, I sew, I keep a beautiful home, is there no hope?
It's valentines and I feel like the only girl in the world who's without a kiss on valentines, what can I do to prevent this happening next year.

Your friends and family have obviously let you down with their net working skills, or their little black books are seriously lacking in content.
You're obviously just not applying yourself correctly. Get out and twirl those tassles, shorten your skirts so the boys can at least see those rouged knees.
Don't wait to be asked to dance be a little forward and ask that fine uniformed gentleman at the side of the room.
And for heavens sake, what's the point in wearing those false eyelashes if you're not fluttering them.
Failing all this it's not so bad being spinster of the parish.

being married for nearly five years, my hubby always manages to surprise me with valentine and birthday gifts!!
my valentine gift this year?............a new hoover, which i actually needed and have now developed an OCD with because its so blooming GOOD!!!!
i did get a bunch of flowers.....from my 10 year old son!!!!

Arent' some dates just plain 'weird'? I had a blind date with a dentist once (who was absolutely, mindnumbingly beautiful to look at...).. who offered me to 'come back to his place as he had some lovely 'dentist-style' drugs' which make you all woosy (and no doubt make your knickers fall off too.. which I think he was banking on...)... nevertheless, Miss Minx declined his strange offer and went home to Hot Chocolate and Sex and the City instead. Phew... what a lucky escape. I shudder to think of where he is and what he's up to now.

LOL that is soooo funny.............i know had a few like that in my time....you have to laugh, yes i enjoyed the journey home more whizzing down the m/w and music full blast - no doubt tomorrows date with DJ will be great fun....not sure about the one on Friday but he will be buying me my favorite champers which is Krug....

well i am afraid there is no naughty about me, as the girls who have meet me will be able to reasure you, I am the model of innocence, purity, and gentlemenly behaviour. Much as i wish i could find the traditin burley naughtyness, the flirty bum pinching cadish behaviour that seems to be so favoured by some ladies, i just havent got it in me. :
