I've discovered that about 90% of my wardrobe no longer fits me, and as I'm about to lose my job I can't afford to go on a wild spending spree. (More's the pity)
So I need a basic wardrobe, but it still has to be fun and glamourous.
What do you consider the essentials?

I'm wearing a lot of vests under things at the moment - maybe I'm getting old. Luckily they're about £3 in H&M and Primarni.
And cardigans. Yep, definitely old.
Probably a black pencil skirt - can't go far wrong with that. Although I'm having trouble finding a decent one that doesn't make me look bulgy (is that a word). _________________ www.myspace.com/bea_devile

I struggle with pencil skirts too. They are like the holy grail of clothes for me, I'm constantly searching for "the one" _________________ “The curve is more powerful than the sword.”

Bea, we can grow old together then as that is what I do!
I have got into a bit of a rockabilly/50s teenager look at the moment.
On a budget I found cropped jeans with turn ups, gingham checked shirts and pumps in Peacocks and Primarni each for less than £10.
It's great for going into spring - team it all up with neckscarves, cute tops on a warmer day, or layed with a cardigan when chilly!!
The shirts will also go with pencil or circle skirts
a good dress that you can accessorise is also staple in my eyes! _________________ "A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort" |

My primarni black cropped jeans are my emergency outfit - and they're stretchy Good with heel or ballet slippers.
They've got lots of cute 1940's style shoes for £12 each at the moment.
Do you wear trousers/ jeans though? I can see you the outfit Thrilby said - think it's the scarf! _________________ www.myspace.com/bea_devile

I can't wear cropped trousers, they are less than forgiving on a 4'10" frame lol
I also can't wear ballet pumps, I've been wearing high heels for so long that flat shoes really really hurt (it's actually bad enough to make me cry lol, oops)
Will definitely have to check out the shoes though! £12 sounds ideal!! _________________ “The curve is more powerful than the sword.”

All the style guides say I should steer clear from pencil skirts. I'm massively pear shaped but I do have a pencil/wiggle dress. I wonder whether I look ok in it though. _________________ baby on the way |

I think there should be a great big BWI swap shop!! WE all bring clothes we don't want and swap for clothes we want!
Team it up with tea and cakes |

I LOVE my free shoes Wore them to Club Smooch - don't even care that they're a size too small for me.
Going to bring my shoes to the next meet up to continue the good shoe-karma. _________________ www.myspace.com/bea_devile

I am 4' 10" too so know how you feel about the heels!!!
I am all for hunting through charity shops for bargains - i have some fabulous things in my wardrobe like jumpers and dresses that have been picked up for very few pounds!
Also scruitinise the sales in shops with petite ranges - i grabbed an amazing dress from Miss Selfridge on Tuesday that was reduced from £50 to £15!!! _________________ the teddy bears came in two by two... |

2 pencil skirts and 2 cardies, black and red, fishnet tights, cheap tops from h&m with some transfers or sew on patches. When the tops die you can sew them onto new cheap tops.
If pencil skirts aren't right pick some wider ones you can twirl in, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! _________________ Nails are to scratch the backs of your friends and the eyes of your enemies. |
