Now ladies; it's confession time. I can not dance elegantly in stilletoes. What shoes are best for burlesquing in? And can I get them in a size 3? I just seem to have rather a tendency to overbalance when attempting to turn quickly when dancing.

I suppose it depends on what kind of dancing you're doing. Some routines look fantastic in bare feet.
If you're moving around a lot and have trouble balancing then maybe try some thicker heeled shoes that are secure on your foot (with a mary jane strap or ankle strap).
I got some good plain black ones in New Look not very long ago, if they're plain you can always customise them too. Get your glue gun and rhinestones out and make them sparkle!

Ooh - how do you customise shoes?
I've got some shoes with black glitter, so they show up when they catch the light - but I want to make them a bit more obvious.
Can I spray them with some silver glitter spray?
I have no idea how to go about it.
I'm spending far too much time in C&H's at the moment..

Ms Twist, stlletoes are not ideal for dancing...I use shoes with a chunky heel, they're perfect for balancing, but not too easy to find. Or dance shoes: you can find salsa shoes really easily and they look nice and vintage; I'm a size 3 and have had no problems finding the right shoes.

I know a lot of girls that use either Pleaser or Demonia shoes. They say they're very comfy but the quality is somewhat shoddy. They don't last too long. But they have a decent selection and you can probably find what you're looking for. Pleaser is probably the tree you wanna go barking up. I think as long as you're only using them to perform in and not daily wear, they should last a lot longer than normal.
These two brands were very popular among the girls of my old cast.

Bea - you'd probably find that the colour cracks if you spray them. Especially along the crease lines where the shoe bends. I know quite a few people have used rhinestones to customise shoes but I haven't tried it myself yet so I'm not the best person for advice on this. You need a decent hot glue gun and I'm pretty sure you'd need a flat surface to attach them (it might not work on your glittered shoes).

Not tried them myself, but they are pretty ...
I like a company called TUK - ever so comfy, gorgeous, and extremely different. Plus they have the old chunky heel for stability. But personally I find a slimmer heel more comfortable to dance in, but I think that might just be individual preference

I have some nice demonia shoes, they are lovely and a good price, £35 or something but they're not very comfy. Maybe thats just the pair I got though, I think they're about an 8 inch heel or somethin silly!
