A friend of mine is running off to Vegas in a few weeks to get married, she is wearing a Vivian of Holloway dress, to which she has asked to borrow my full petticoat/underskirt, the problem with this is I have lent this girl numerous things over the years, (books, CD’s, shoes, clothes) which I have NEVER seen again. The one thing I did get back was a pair of demonia shoes and the buckles were hanging off. I do not want to (or cant, for that matter) splash out 40 odd quid for a new petticoat, but she s so careful to batter the point of “its for my wedding” into me that I feel a bit guilty. So, what do I do? Say “hell no, buy your own” or just pray that I get it back and in a decent condition?

| Tell her you've got your own Vegas wedding to attend and give her a beautiful envelope addressed to her, containing the address to a place she can pick her own petticoat up |

IF she wanted the full on look for her wedding she would have brought the petticoat.
Don't lend it to her if there is a good chance you won't get it back. They are a lot of money and you want to still look fabulous in your dress.
Or - lend it, but ensure you have something of hers to the same value to hold on to until you get the petticoat back! _________________ "A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort" |

| Don't lend it! I know she's had to pay for flights and whatnot, but if it's her wedding surely she, or a family member, can splash out £40 for her petticoat. |

Lend it to her, but when you put it in her hands, kick her in the shin as hard as you can and say, "There's more where that came from, toots! If I don't get this back, you'll find out where else I can kick!" _________________ Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc.

Don't lend it to her and don't explain yourself. Sometimes people just have to except that no means no.
Good luck
