Just curious - I notice some lipsticks have their own "scent", YSL, Guerlain etc, you just know it is one of theirs. So question: do they deliberately "scent" them or do they use ingredients that have unique smalles. I suspect the former, but have often wondered.

That site is really cool, I've seen some of their stuff before but I had no idea you could smell of pretty much anything you've ever seen or eaten! I also had no idea that "In 1750 Londoners are consuming 11 million gallons of gin per year." think I was born in the wrong era _________________ So good they banned her... |

Estee Lauder lipsticks are like that strawberry Calpol you give kids. Its deliciously comforting Reminds me of my mum giving me a cuddle when I was poorly and little.

| Talking of evocative scents, whever I small Aromatics by Clinique it brings me back to the old fashioned smell of hairdressers in the 60s. Weird! |

| I bought myself two lipsticks in MAC because there was a debenham sale... but I think I will try the Estee Lauder lipsticks if they smell like strawberry though it's my mother's signature brand... so I'm not sure. |

I've also found the playdoh perfume, I was seriously impressed!
I've found that most comapnies will use a signature scent, it is such a subtle thing, the olfactory bulb (somthing that lives inside the nose the allows you to discern different smells) is powerfully linked to the memory centres of the brain and smell is enormously important in the sale of ladies lovely stuff for imprinting feelings of fabulous glamouressness. Ooooh the technical language I use, I impress myself with my comand of the English language.
Thrilby and I have jsut drunk two bottles of wine
