I'm doing a 6 week short course thats run at the college I'm at on how to make corsets.
I dunno why it's called corsetry for burlesque, rather than just corsetry. Or 'make your own corset in 6 easy steps' or something, but I don't care, I'm well excited! I'll be able to potentially make my own rather than pay hundreds of pounds for the corset of my dreams.
Yey!

Yeah, you were in Garys class weren't you? I lived with him in my first year/your final year.
Its gayle doing it apparently. I'm proper nervous (its tonight), but luckily two of my friends are doing it too.
I'm just scared because they're both doing entertainment design, and I have quite limited knowledge about such stuff (I'm doing a photography degree), so I'm worried I won't know anywhere near as much as everyone else

The first session of the corsetry course was tonight. It was really good, I really enjoyed it. And it was so good to be learning something new and fun.
The pattern cutting was hard! And all I had to do was trace around some pattern pieces already made, then make them slightly smaller.

Ooh, and you were in the slideshow she showed us Katy! On the same slide as Dita too

We're making the mock up one tonight (I don't know the proper wording for that, Katy, help?!), and I'm pretty scared. I've only ever made a cushion cover and a tutu before. ha ha.

We had to take our fabric in today too, so I bought a pretty pale green silk type (I couldn't afford real silk). I think I'm going to make a big pink bow belt  and cover the bow in crystals. What do you think gays and gals?

We didn't actually get as far as making the toile (thank you katy) last night. Mostly because I'm terrible with the industrial sewing machines! They're rediculously fast!
