Good afternoon, Peeps
I am looking for guidance: I am African American (or as I like to say, I am a Black American) and I am looking for good Burlesque hair and makeup tips. Can anyone help me? Please!!!
Thanks!

Good luck with that honeybun! I've been in the business for years...you're going to have to do it yourself - I can only offer advice:
Check with your local beauty schools and see if any of them have done any work with black models if they haven't, ask them if they'd be willing to help you in exchange for photographs of their work or you can be a model for their final make-up exam.
Get on the internet and find pictures of black performers (Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Josephine Baker et al) and just try to recreate their look on yourself.
Try going to a make-up counter with a photo of the look you want and ask them if they can create it.
For hair, you could try Nina the Headdresser if not, maybe she can refer you.
Good luck!
